A Russian column of armoured vehicles travelling to Kherson Oblast via the Kerch Bridge was reported to have exceeded the speed limit, resulting in the loss of five cars. The information was released by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
According to the Defence Intelligence report, on 26 March, a column of five Z-STS Akhmat vehicles of the 34th Motorized Rifle Brigade was travelling along the Kerch Bridge in the direction of the occupied Crimea. However, they were unable to complete their journey due to “speeding and non-compliance with a safe distance while driving as part of a column.” As a result, four out of five cars require significant repairs.
Defence Intelligence reports that the Akhmats were travelling to Kherson Oblast and were supposed to reinforce the units of Russian invaders operating on the Prydniprovsk front.
This incident highlights the importance of obeying traffic rules and maintaining a safe driving distance, even in cases of military maneuvers. Had the Russian column followed the rules, they may have avoided the loss of vehicles and the need for repairs.
While this may seem like a small incident, it is important to remember that every action has consequences, and even a small mistake can lead to significant consequences in a military operation. It is also a reminder that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is ongoing, and both sides must remain vigilant and comply with international laws and regulations.
Journalists play an important role in keeping the public informed about such incidents and other important developments. As they operate on the front lines, they too require support. Whether it is through reading and sharing their articles or becoming a patron, supporting independent journalism is vital to ensure the continued dissemination of accurate and unbiased information.
