Jeremy Renner’s Snowplow Returns After Accident
Jeremy Renner, the Hollywood actor best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Avengers franchise, is getting his snowplow back. The snowplow, a PistenBully snowcat, was involved in an accident on New Year’s Day that left Renner with serious injuries. According to reports, Renner was trying to prevent his nephew from being hit by the snowplow when it ran over him instead.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, which investigated the incident, suggested mechanical issues may have played a role in the accident. Renner was clearing snow in order to free a stuck vehicle when he exited the snowplow without setting the emergency brake. The snowplow began sliding, and despite having some mechanical issues, it is believed that the parking brake would have prevented it from moving forward. Renner was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over when he attempted to stop or divert it.
Renner was airlifted to hospital in critical but stable condition, having broken more than thirty bones. He underwent two surgeries, and has been documenting his physical and mental recovery on social media.
The sheriff’s office took possession of the snowplow in order to determine the cause of the accident, and it is unclear if any mechanical issues were confirmed or if the vehicle was repaired before being returned to Renner. The actor celebrated the return of his snowplow on social media, sharing a picture on Instagram of it making its way back to his house in Reno, Nevada, along with the caption, “She’s finally making her way home.”
Renner’s fans, meanwhile, were thrilled to see him on the mend, and congratulated him on social media with messages of love and support. Renner has not yet commented on the return of his snowplow or if he plans to continue using it.
