Gwyneth Paltrow’s Children Give Depositions in Ski Collision Trial
The ongoing trial over a ski collision involving Gwyneth Paltrow and Terry Sanderson took an interesting turn on Tuesday as depositions given by Paltrow’s children, Apple and Moses, were read out in court. The incident, which occurred in 2016, has led to a lawsuit in which Sanderson accuses Paltrow of slamming into him while skiing at Deer Valley Ski Resort in Park City, Utah.
The depositions reveal that Apple and Moses were not present at the scene of the collision but were part of a skiing group that included Paltrow, her husband Brad Falchuk, his children, and multiple ski instructors. The crash caused Paltrow to seek medical attention, while Sanderson claims to have suffered four broken ribs, a concussion, and lingering cognitive symptoms.
Apple’s statement reveals that her mother was upset over the incident and was in a state of shock and pain following it. She also mentioned that she had never seen her mother so upset before. The teen resumed skiing afterward, but Paltrow headed to the spa for a massage.
Meanwhile, Paltrow herself took the stand on Friday, testifying that she was unsure of exactly what was happening in the moments after the accident and had wondered if it were “an intentional assault of a sexual nature.” She also admitted to using profanity while yelling at Sanderson but later apologized for it.
While Sanderson is seeking $300,000 in compensation from Paltrow, the actress is countersuing and seeking a symbolic $1, plus attorney’s fees, claiming that Sanderson was the one who collided with her. Her lawyers have not yet decided whether they will call Falchuk to the stand.
The trial is ongoing, and it remains to be seen how it will conclude. However, the depositions given by Paltrow’s children offer a fascinating insight into what happened that day and may help shed further light on the case.
