A Colorado dentist has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder after allegedly lacing his wife’s pre-workout protein shakes with arsenic and cyanide. According to court documents, James Craig, 45, had been having an affair with a woman he wanted to be with, which police believe led him to kill his wife. Angela Craig had been hospitalized three times this month, with doctors unable to determine what was making her ill. Craig’s dental practice partner and friend, Ryan Redfearn, told authorities that Craig had ordered potassium cyanide when there was no need for it at the clinic. Additionally, Craig allegedly ordered Oleandrin, a poisonous substance found in the leaves of the Oleander plant. The delivery was intercepted by authorities after they began investigating him. According to the document, Angela’s sister, Toni Kofoed, told the police that Craig had drugged his wife about five years ago with an unknown drug because he said he planned to kill himself and did not want her to be able to save him. The police have scheduled a court appearance for Craig on Thursday to determine whether prosecutors have decided to file charges against him.
